A Bumper End to This Year's Stylish Submissions!

We're ending this year's Styling Kate with a bumper edition of your submissions for the Dutch State banquet (view Part 1 here and Part 2 here). We have tiaras galore, treasures from the royal jewel vaults and gowns fit for a princess. A few observations from the activity: Jenny Packham remains the Queen of Evening Wear, with a large number of readers seeking banquet couture from her collections. There's a strong desire to see the return of Kate's wedding day tiara - the Cartier Halo and so much love for the two currently in her rotation, the Cambridge Lovers Knot and the Lotus Flower. Many of you proved yourselves more than adept in sartorial diplomacy with an array of orange hues, Dutch designers and subtle nods to the Netherlands included. Most importantly, it's been incredibly fun and a lovely opportunity to hear from some of our readers who rarely comment. With the royal summer break coming to a close, it seems a very fitting way to end summer on the blog!

Pam from Boston - "I found this Jenny Packham pretty quickly and I absolutely love it. I am not a lover of sequins, glitter and glitz, dresses with all that all look the same to me. Also I think a lot of bling isn't quite the thing for a state banquet. So I think this dress fits the bill nicely. I think the flowers on it are orange, or an orangish red, and it's got white and blue, so it's a version of red, white and blue. So, perfect to honor the Dutch." The Floral-Embroidered gown is teamed with the Lotus Flower Tiara.

Lili - Lili chose the Temperley London Topiary V Neck Dress for the Dutch State Banquet. "With Prussian blue-hued light georgette ornamented with oversized flat sequins, the Topiary V Neck Dress is shaped into a plunging neckline, butterfly sleeves and a maxi length silhouette." It's styled with the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara, Gianvito Rossi Glam sandals, the Queen's Diamond Chandelier earrings and the Rossi Bella clutch.

Julie from NC - A strapless print couture Tony Ward gown is teamed with Queen Mary's Fringe Tiara, a Garnet and Gold bracelet, custom garnet chandelier earrings, the Emmy Shoes Valerie pumps in chocolate suede and matching Natasha clutch.

Silvia - When considering gowns readers would love to see Kate repeat, I do believe we have a frontrunner. Silvia is the third reader to choose the sapphire blue gown Kate wore for a Bollywood Gala in India in 2016. Silvia paired it with the tiara and jewels from the George VI and Modern Sapphire Set.

Diane - "I LOVE this whole look for Catherine! Gown, clutch, shoes, earrings. Imagine her in this with a chic updo or low bun. It's bold, classic, stately, romantic, sparkly, chic, sexy, powerful, colorful, artful and COOL - it's amazing!" The deep orchid Alexander McQueen Crystal Flower Embroidered Evening Dress is styled with the designers Double-Ring clutch, Cage Sandals and Pearl Earrings.

Andrea from New York - "My choice is the Monique Lhuillier Illusion gown with ostrich feather skirt. I think it is probably outside Kate’s comfort zone but she would look gorgeous in it and I think the fashion forward Queen Maxima would love it." The silver grey embroidered gown is styled with the Lotus Flower Tiara, The Queen's Sapphire Tassel earrings and bracelet, champagne Jimmy Choo Lancer pumps and "the Milanblocks rhinestone encrusted skull evening bag in silver a la Sarah Burton who also favors skull motifs."

Casey - Casey chose the Carolina Herrera Strapless Embroidered Floral-Print Evening Gown. The blue print gown is accessorised with The George VI and Modern Sapphire set (very popular jewels this year) and Manolo Blahnik Allura Metallic Leather Slingback Pumps.

Bluefire - Bluefire chose the grecian style Jenny Packham Tahoe gown from the SS19 Collection. It's styled with Gianvito Rossi Scarlet pumps, Roger Vivier Crystal-embellished crushed-velvet clutch, a rose gold Monica Vinader bracelet, Kiki McDonough Imperial Topaz and Diamond earrings, Morganite and Diamond necklace and Tourmaline and Kunzite Diamond ring. The Lotus Flower Tiara and The Queen's Diamond and Rose Gold brooch complete the look.

Helena GA - "Kate wears red so well but I'd like her to change it up a touch and wear a wine or raspberry color. I chose a Talbot Runhof gown." The one-shoulder gown is described as "Elegance embodied, this floor-length gown from Talbot Runhof showcases a vibrant finish in flattering stretch crepe. Creating a beautiful fall and spectacular draping, the one-shoulder design is transformed with cape detail to the reverse." It is accessorised with Queen Mary's Fringe Tiara.

Jo from Virginia - The floor length fitted Roland Mouret Coleman gown in persian red is styled with the Queen's Oriental Circlet Tiara with Kate's hair styled in an elegant updo. The Queen's Dubai Looped Sapphire Demi-Parure, The Queen's Diamond Pendant earrings, Kate's Jimmy Choo Vamp sandals and Judith Leiber Couture Crystal evening bag finish off the ensemble.

Rebecca V - "I love this shimmery, but not too shimmery gown and would have Catherine wear it with the Lotus Tiara and pearl and diamond jewels." The Temperley London Celestial dress in Spring '18's ethereal almond hue is teamed with Rupert Sanderson Malory pumps in Stardust Velvet, the Lotus Flower Tiara, Princess Diana's triple strand pearl bracelet, the Duchess of Gloucester's Pendant earrings and The Four Row Japanese Pearl Choker.

Sunny - "I loved the gown with the cape Kate wore in Norway while pregnant, so I picked a berry gown which has a cape as well. The cape look has something so glamorous and regal to it!" The Monique Lhuillier Draped Chiffon gown is styled with The Teck Crescent Tiara, Queen Victoria's Crown Ruby Brooch, Kate's black satin Prada clutch and Prada pumps.

Anne from Texas - "Since Kate and William toured Australia, I've been thinking about the blue dress that a student designed for a wool competition for Kate and regretting she never wore it. Sophie Alyward won the 2013 Wool4Schools competition with a blue merino wool dress that I'd love to see Kate in for the Dutch State Banquet. Since the lace on the dress was modeled after Kate's wedding dress, I'd like to see Kate repeat the Cartier Halo Tiara. She should also wear the Queen's 18th birthday diamond and sapphire bracelet and carry the Edie Parker Jean Solid Acrylic Clutch Bag in orange for a bit of sartorial diplomacy."

Amy A - The burgundy Verdin Bias Cut Velvet & Silk Trumpet Gown described as "A study in graceful shape and luxurious texture, this gown features a long length of velvet, fitted from the Empire waist to the knee, where it is gathered into the trumpet drape" is teamed with Queen Mary's Fringe Tiara, The City of London Fringe Necklace, the Queen's Diamond Chandelier earrings and Jimmy Choo Lillian pumps in grape. An updo would complete the look.

Jen - Jen would love to see Kate in a ruffled gown by Dutch designer Claes Iversen. It's been previously worn by Queen Maxima in a bespoke yellow hue. It's accessorised with the Cartier Halo Tiara, Kate's Schtuz Dollie sandals, Queen Mary's Diamond Bar Choker Bracelet and Queen Mary's Diamond Collet earrings.

Caren - "Kate's dress is a great opportunity for sartorial diplomacy. I choose the Viktor & Rolf Rose Plisse dress. It's a Dutch designer that features a gorgeous English rose on the bodice. The "House of Orange" color would be a nice touch, but I would invert the colors. Her dress would be in cream, with a hint of orange peeking through on the skirt. Her shoes and bag are simple and sparkly. Champagne glitter "Lance" shoes and "Ellipse" bag from Jimmy Choo. She'll repeat her fabulous earrings from the 2017 BAFTA awards, which she'll pair with the Papyrus/Lotus tiara to lighten the look a bit and let the dress and earrings really shine."

The Mod Meeting Planner - The sweeping yellow silk Carolina Herrera ballgown with embroidery is styled with the Lotus Flower Tiara, the Gianvito Rossi Bella clutch, The Queen's Diamond Chandelier earrings, the Queen's Wedding Gift Bracelet and Jimmy Choo Dart sandals.

Zora from Prague - "I love velvet and I love this dress. The colour could be the soft, warm dark blue instead of black!" Zora fell in love with the Marchesa Embellished Tulle-Trimmed Velvet Gown. It's described as: "Made from plush velvet, it's cut to flatteringly hug your curves and has a tulle-trimmed boat neckline that's intricately embellished with scores of lustrous faux pearls and light-catching crystals. We love how the train beautifully skims the floor behind you with every step."

Miol Mor - Miol Mor shared her look via her blog with the following description: "The dress as shown is based on an Elie Saab gown from the Fall Couture 2018 collection and the altered bodice I'm imagining (and tried to sketch out) picks up on the sleeves of the dark teal Jenny Packham dress the Duchess wore,e.g., in New York, and the draped gauzy 'collar' of the green Jenny Packham BAFTA2018 dress. The neckline alteration is roughly outlined; alas, sleeves symmetry and a more or less radical trimming of the waist-hedge I leave to your imagination as those alterations go beyond this tyro's photo manipulation capabilities ...). I expect Jenny Packham to create the gown for October and I dearly hope she adopts a color scheme similar to the lovely burnished orange fading into silvery pinkish purple of the Elie Saab. The burnt orange would be a subtle nod to the honored guests, of course.

My fantasy dress also would go fabulously with Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara; Collingwood Pearl Drop Earrings; a Diamond Collet Necklace (example pictured); HM's Diamond Quatrefoil Bracelet; a Pearl and Diamond Cocktail Ring (vintage); Shoes and Clutch by Jimmy Choo. In fact, I think those jewels are far more likely to be worn by the Duchess on the occasion than the emeralds. However, it seems high time for the Greville Emerald Tiara made by Boucheron to reemerge from the vaults and spread its sparkle - which is why the pearls lost out in this running for the finals. Thus, my grabby little hands snatched it, the Delhi Durbar Necklace, Earrings and Bracelet from HM, and a vintage Cabochon Emerald and Diamond Cluster Ring from the net, to go with the big cabochon emerald of the tiara. Last but not least, and not distract from the glorious emeralds of the jewels, the clutch and shoes were relegated to a platinum shade."

Priscilla from California - Priscilla chose a bespoke green version of Jenny Packham's embellished tulle Samar gown from the SS19 Collection. It's styled with Kate's emerald and diamond earrings, the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara, The Jimmy Choo Cloud clutch and Lorna Platinum Ice Dusty Glitter Sandals.

Hannah - "For this look I was inspired by Kate’s solo visit to the Netherlands and her tour of the Mauritshuis museum and viewing of works by the Dutch masters. I would like to see her wear Elie Saab Tulle & Lace Full Skirted Gown, and I would like the Lotus Flower tiara to make a reappearance!"

Smiley - Smiley put together an "Ice-Princess" look featuring a cap sleeve silver beaded Naeem Khan gown, the Cartier Halo Tiara, the Queen's Diamond Chandelier earrings and the Rainbow Club Celina clutch in Ivory.

Anon 183 - "This gown is a bit extravagant, especially the big skirt, but Kate has worn Marchesa to a state banquet before so it might be possible. Also, Maxima often wears extravagant looks and Kate should not be overshadowed by her." The Off-the-Shoulder Corset Bodice Ombre Tulle Ball Gown with Velvet Flower Corsage is accessorised with Kate's Gianvito Rossi D'orsay pumps, The Five Aquamarine Tiara and the Queen's Diamond Cluster earrings.

Sun - A sweeping lavender beaded gown with a full skirt and sheer detailing by Paolo Sebastian is styled with Queen Mary's Diamond Bandeau with the Kent Amethyst brooch worn on the back of Kate's chignon. The look is completed with the Phase Eight Gemma clutch.

Molly Claire - Molly Claire would love to see Kate wearing the sky blue Jenny Packham Iona gown from the SS19 Collection. The embellished gown is teamed with The Teck Crescent Tiara, Kiki McDonough Juno blue topaz earrings with diamond top, the Juno citrine and blue topaz ring and the Juno blue topaz bracelet. The look is completed with the Jimmy Choo Alia pumps.

Rachel - Rachel selected the Monique Lhuillier Off-the-shoulder satin gown with Diana's Sapphire Choker and Collingwood earrings. The Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara, the Queen's Wedding Gift bracelet, Jimmy Choo Romy glitter pumps and Glitter Box clutch finish off the ensemble.

Patricia I - "Since the Netherlands is the center of the international flower industry, including the auction houses that handle all of our florist blossoms, as well as lending its fields to tulip and other bulb production, I have chosen a flowery theme. This gown from Erdem was the closest I could find to what I wanted to portray. It is admittedly a bit light in weight for autumn, though the silk must be lovely." The Erdem Petunia Floral Maxi Dress is accessorised with Kate's Gianvito Rossi d'Orsay sandals, the Jimmy Choo Ellipse clutch, the Lotus Flower Tiara, the Queen's Dubai Looped Sapphire necklace and earrings and the Queen's Quatrefoil bracelet.

P.S. - "My goal for this look was to include the colours of the dutch flag: I picked a white gown and went with blue Accessoires (clutch + sapphire jewels). To finish it off, I would have Kate wear red lipstick!" The Chiari Boni Jersey Peplum Gown is styled with the Tannery clutch bag in royal blue, Empress Marie Feodorovna's Sapphire Brooch, The Modern Sapphire bracelet and the Lotus Flower Tiara. Kate's hair would be styled in a demi-chignon.

Lady Germany - The Zac Posen Off-the-Shoulder Trumpet Gown featuring a sweetheart neckline and cape sleeves with slit details is accessorised with the Queen's Vanguard Rose Brooch, a silver Oscar de la Renta clutch to match the brooch and Queen Alexandra's Kokoshnik Tiara.

Sarah USA - Sarah chose a sleeveless floral Marchesa gown for the Dutch State Banquet. It's accessorised with the Queen's Fringe Diamond Necklace and Jimmy Choo Lilian Viola Suede Pointy Toe Pumps with Crystal Trim.

Stella Milan - The peach Temperley London Cannes gown is described as "Light-reflecting crystal embellishment in a French garden-inspired design falls delicately a top Peach sheer tulle on the Cannes Gown. With an elegant bateau neckline, bracelet-length sleeves, and floor-grazing hem, this regal evening dress is a subtle nod to the Summer '18 theme of the Riviera in the Fifties." It's styled with the Teck Crescent Tiara, L.K. Bennett Dorothy sandals, Queen Mary's Floret earrings and the Queen's Diamond Quatrefoil bracelet.

Anonymous - "As a Dutch reader I would love to see her wear a dress of Jan Taminiau, a famous Dutch designer - Maxima wears his dresses as well, often on important occasions (like the inauguration of king Willem-Alexander). I am thinking of something bespoke, but would love a dress like this one. Combined with the lotus flower tiara and perhaps one or two bracelets (not too much jewelry as the dress already has a lot going on) this would be really cool!"

Darla Humphries - "I would love to see Kate wear this dress dyed in bronze-orange to salute the Orange-Nassau King and Queen". A statement Marchesa gown from the Fall 2019 Collection is styled with gold Gianvito Rossi 105 pumps, the Lotus Flower Tiara and Kiki McDonough Eden Diamond Flower Lemon Drop earrings.

Shantel - "At first, I thought that I would go with something that she would be likely to wear, but then I decided to go with what I would love to see her in (regardless of whether it is feasible as far as protocol, etc.). With that in mind, here is my look: We know that Max is going to BRING IT; she always does. So I wanted to go for a little bit of edge, while keeping with Kate’s royal, princessy vibe. I chose a gown from Elie Saab’s Fall 2018 Couture Show." The gold and blue gown is accessorised with gold Jimmy Choo Lance pumps, the Double Baroque Pearl and Diamond Cuff Bracelet and Diamond Tennis Bracelet. The look is completed with the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara, the LK Bennett Avona clutch in gold and Mizuki Pearl and Diamond earrings.

Grace H - "I chose this dress because it is in between red and orange and from Dutch designers Viktor & Rolf." The satin gown with rose detailing is from the Surreal Satin Haute Couture collection. The ombre plisse tulle skirt gives way to airy movement. It would be worn with the Queen's Burmese Ruby Tiara.

Alex From OZ - "I love this Zac Posen gown, but it would be fully lined. The Duchess wouldn't wear something this transparent, even though she could totally pull it off." The blue gown is styled with the Cartier Halo Tiara, the Queens' Diamond Chandelier Drop Demi-Parure and the L.K. Bennett Dora silver glitter sandals.

Meredith from Boston - "I chose this Roland Mouret gown because of the beautiful neckline, perfect for showing off fabulous royal jewels. I think a state banquet is the ideal occasion to be dripping in diamonds! Since she has already worn a red gown to a state banquet, I would love to see the Duchess in a bespoke version of the gown in a deep sapphire blue and a hidden zipper." The gown is teamed with the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara, the Queen's Pear Drop Diamond earrings, The Baguette and Brilliant bracelet, scalloped Prada pumps and a satin clutch.

Vikki - "To honor the Netherlands I've chosen an orange (actually coral) gown that looks like something Kate might like. This is not an expensive "designer" dress but when I saw it I immediately thought of Kate." The Bateau Neck Lace Applique 3/4 Long Illusion Sleeve A Line dress is styled with the Cartier Halo Tiara, Kate's Oscar de la Renta Cabrina pumps and Rose Garden diamond earrings.

Anonymous - A sleeveless orange Stella McCartney gown with lace detailing would be worn with the Barberini sapphire tiara and drop earrings, the Cartier Quintet Bracelet, Jimmy Choo Ellipse Gold clutch and Misty sandals.

Audrey Mango - "I'd love to see Kate in this burnt orange Viktor and Rolf gown. It's by a Dutch designer, it's orange, and it's an homage to Queen Máxima's bold and playful style." Like Caren and Grace, Audrey adores the Rose Plisse Gown. It's styled with the Burmese Ruby Tiara, the Wedding Gift Bracelet and Ted Baker Saviy pumps.

Nicole Mueller - "In my opinion, it´s time for a Oscar de la Renta gown. This navy blue sequin-embroidered fishnet dress would be perfect." The navy gown is styled with sparkling Jimmy Choo pumps and the matching Celeste clutch. The Cartier Halo Tiara, Wedding Gift bracelet and the Queen's Diamond pendant earrings complete the look.

Unknown - The Off-The-Shoulder Silk Catherine Regehr blue floral gown would be worn with Alexandre Birman Clarita Leather d'Orsay Sandals, a Judith Leiber clutch, the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara, Diana's pearl sapphire choker, Kate's sapphire and diamond earrings and the Modern Sapphire bracelet.

S - "I chose a gown by Dutch Designer Jan Taminiau who designed the GORGEOUS blue gown Maxima wore to her husband's coronation. The brown colour would look pretty on Kate, and she likes peplum and beading." It is accessorised with the Lotus Flower Tiara, the Duchess of Teck earrings, Emmy Valerie pumps and a misty rose Emmy clutch.

Liv Alba - "I would like to see Kate re-wear one of her previous beautiful gowns. It would make me happy if she would wear the teal Jenny Packham from the 2012 London Olympics gala. That dress was a perfect fit, her hair looked impeccably styled as well. I would add the emerald jewelry set she wore at the fundraising gala for St Andrews’s in NY in 2014. And Queen Mary’s bandeau tiara."

Annika Boston - An off-the-shoulder royal blue Marchesa gown with floral embellishment is teamed with Jimmy Choo Ivette Glitter sandals, the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara and Her Majesty's Dubai Looped Sapphire Demi-Parure.

Snowdrop - Snowdrop chose the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Bloom Gown for the banquet. It features a sweetheart bodice cut from Italian flocked sequins and a semi hidden layer floating in the voluminous light tulle skirt. It's styled with the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara, The Diamond Pear-Shaped Pendant Fringe Necklace, Kate's grey McQueen clutch and Rupert Sanderson Malory pumps in cloud.

Emma from NC - "Hi! My name is Emma from NC. This is my look for Kate at the state banquet with Queen Maxima. I love this dress because of the embroidered flowers all over it but I would have a special bespoke version made for Kate in the blue color I attached. Kate likes blue and it would match some of the embroidery. There are so many pretty tiaras and jewels but I think Kate should stick with the Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara because it looks so beautiful on Kate and because the history of the tiara. I also chose jewels she's already worn for most things. The only new jewelry is the Rose of York brooch to hold down her sash if she gets an order." The look is accessorised with the Queen's diamond and pearl choker, the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara, the Queen's diamond chandelier earrings, the Queen's Wedding Gift bracelet and the Diamond Rose of York brooch.

Emma continued "I love Kate's long, beautiful hair. Since I like it down I chose a half up, half down hairstyle like the one in the picture. To hold it back I think she should use the Queen's Ears of Wheat brooches." The look is completed with a blue clutch, sparkling blue Jimmy Choo pumps and a soft make up look.

Robin from CA - "Kate usually goes full on princess at these banquets so I kept that in mind." A silk white tulle embroidered Monique Lhuillier gown is styled with the Nizam of Hyderabad Tiara, the Diplomatic Corps Diamond Floral earrings, Jimmy Choo Minny Glitter sandals and the crystal swarovski Oscar de la Renta clutch.

Flora - "This dress in the royal blue, perhaps a bespoke version by McQueen?" The look is accessorised with the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara and the jewels Diana is wearing below. The look is completed with the Oscar de la Renta Cabrina pumps.

Elle - "For the Dutch State Dinner, my guess is that Kate will go with Jenny Packham. I believe that Kate is most comfortable in a full skirt gown for these events. So I went with a 2013 lovely, ethereal, dark coral gown. It's from the same collection as Kate's teal gown. There is a slight sheer wrap over her shoulders - which is another element I feel Kate prefers - maybe she would have bespoke design with a sleeve." The gown is styled with Kate's Oscar de la Renta Cabrina pumps, a McQueen clutch, the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara, The County of Cornwall bracelet and Queen Mary's Ruby Cluster earrings, The Four Row Japanese Pearl Choker, Diana's Triple Strand bracelet and Diana's Collingwood pearl earrings.

Marci in Utah - "I don't know why I love House of Worth so much when it's so outdated, but still. Here's a gown I would love to see made for Kate, and since it's the Dutch royals, it could be made in blue and white to suggest Delft, or orange and cream". The gown is styled with the Lotus Flower Tiara, the Queen's South African Necklace and Bracelet and Queen Mary's Diamond Collet earrings.

Anonymous - A navy velvet Talbot Runhof gown is styled with the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara, the King Khalid Diamond necklace, the Queen's Diamond Pear drop earrings, the Quatrefoil bracelet and Kate's Oscar de la Renta Cabrina pumps.

Siddhii - Siddhii would love to see the return of the black velvet strapless McQueen gown Kate wore for the 2011 Sun Military Awards with the same Mouawad jewels. It would be accessorised with a sheer black capelet.

Cveta - A bespoke Bateau Neck Floral Print Naeem Khan Gown with shorter sleeves is teamed with Queen Victoria's Emerald and Diamond Tiara, Christian Louboutin pumps and the earrings and bracelet Kate wore to a BAFTA event in 2011. The look is completed with an updo.

A huge thank you to all who participated this year. If I accidentally omitted any of your looks, please don't hesitate to let me know :)

There's a very good possibility we'll see the Cambridges at Balmoral this weekend!
